JAMMU: The government on Monday promoted 38 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers to the Selection Grade .
“Sanction is accorded to the promotion of 38 officers to the Selection Grade of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service in Pay Level-12 (Rs 78800-209200), with effect from September 3, 2022, i.e., the date of meeting of the Establishment-cum-Selection Committee,” read an order issued by Dr. Piyush Singla, Secretary, General Administration Department.
As per order, the JKAS officer who have been promoted to Selection Grade include Nargis Bano, Amar Jyoti Raina, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Umar Shafi Pandit, Aziz Ahmad Rather, Rajeev Kumar Khajuria, Waseem Raja, Udham Dass, Rakesh Dubey, Tariq Hussain, Ramkesh Sharma, Vikar Ahmad Giri, Sonam Norbo, Vivek Phonsa, Mamta Devi, Abdul Rashid Dass, Dilshada Akhter, Nighat Alam, Waseem Raja, Minakshi Vaid, Supriya Kohli, Seema Bharti, Chander Parkash, Yar Ali Khan, Sonam Chosjar, Mehraj-ud-din Shah, Girdhari Lal, Samir Ahmad Jan, Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Afaq Ahmad, Surinder Pal Sharma, Syed Shahnawaz, Mir Nasrool Hilal Jeri, Sudhir Bali, Rishi Kumar Sharma, Ajaz Qesar Malik, Sandeep Seointra and Kaiser Ahmad Bhawani.
Consequently, Waseem Raja, Vivek Phonsa, Reyaz Ahmad Wani and Afaq Ahmad have been designated as Additional Secretaries in the respective departments and rest of the officers shall continue at their present places of postings, till further orders.
“In terms of Non-Functional (Monetary) Scheme (NFS) notified vide SRO-198 dated April 25, 2018, sanction is accorded to the release of Senior Scale (Non-functional) [Level 11 ( Rs 67700-208700)] in favour of the 27 Junior Scale officers of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, with effect from July 1, 2022,” reads another order.
As per order, Senior Scale have been release in favour of Shafiq Ah Wani, Iqbal Hussain Mir, Irfan Ali Khan, Arshad Hussain Ganai, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Ch. Mohd Nawaz, Jaliel Ahmad Mir, Shiekh Enayattullah, Suhayb Ahmad Wani, Samrinder Singh, Deep Novel Kour, Mohd Imran Niak, Diksha Bamba, Sheikh Salahu Ud Din, Mudasirah, Naveed Hussain Badroo, Jigmet Raftan, Javaid Ahmad Malik, Azhar Amin Zargar, Saima Sharief Khan, Abdul Majeed Rather, Qaiser Mehmood, Ashwani Hansa, Ashu Kumari, Imtiaz, Arti and Chander Shakher Sharma.

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that the Union Territory Government is working towards the inclusive and equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir keeping the welfare of all sections of the society on priority.
“The government with its various schemes and programmes is reaching out to the tribal community for their socio-economic empowermen”t, the Lt Governor said while interacting with a delegation of BJP ST Morcha headed by its National President and Member Parliament Samir Oraon, which called on his here.
The Lt Governor assured the members of the delegation that the issues raised by them would be looked into for early redressal on merit.
The members of the delegation apprised the Lt Governor about various concerning issues of the Tribal community.
Samir Oraon, Member Parliament from Jharkhand also discussed with the Lt Governor various developmental and public important issues.
The delegation comprised newly nominated Rajya Sabha MP, Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana; National Secretary BJP ST Morcha, Choudhary Mushtaq Inqlabi; General Secretary J&K BJP ST Morcha, Choudhary Roshan Hussain and Permashver.
Earlier, Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, Founder President, Kafila Foundation, accompanied by Abaas Ashraf Dar, member of the foundation also called on the Lt Governor and apprised him about the initiatives of their foundation regarding the opening of a School at Border area of Kupwara.

Srinagar, 19 September: J&K Police is working tirelessly in protecting the interests of the people, and those who one way or other go against the law will face the law. This was stated by the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Shaheed DySP Aman memorial T20 Cricket tournament in Kishtwar today.

The DGP was on a day long visit to Kishtwar where he besides presiding over the closing ceremony of 3rd Shaheed DySP Aman memorial T20 Cricket tournament and chaired officers meeting at DPO. He later visited Neel Top, Mal Tragan, Ramban and had an interaction with the locals.

Speaking on the occasion, the DGP while paying rich tributes to the martyr DySP Aman Thakur said that the brave heart was a dedicated and devouted officer who voluntarily worked on anti terror front.The martyr was awarded prestigious Shuriya Chakra for his gallant act in service of the nation by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India,the DGP said. This tournament is dedicated to remember the martyrdom of the fallen hero. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has lost a number of officers and jawans against the war on terror and added that JKP has been remembering each and every martyr of the force through various events and programmes being organised across UT. Kathua T20 tournament has become a national event now and numerous other events are being organised every year to remember our brave hearts who sacrificed their lives in safeguarding the interests of the nation. He added that such events and programmes provide an opportunity to connect with the families of martyrs. He thanked and appreciated the overwhelming participation of the locals in remembering the JKP martyrs.

The DGP said that the people of Kishtwar have contributed in strengthening peace in the district and hoped that they will continue their cooperation and support to J&K Police. He however emphasized on strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony in the region. He said that with the cooperation of people from across the UT we are witnessing that peace is growing in Jammu and Kashmir and added that more collective efforts are required to stabilise it further. Referring to some social media reports, the DGP said J&K Police is working tirelessly in protecting the interests of the people and added that those who one way or other go against the law will face the law. He appealed for guiding the youth towards the right path for their bright future.

Speaking to the media persons the DGP said that besides paying tributes to martyrs these events provide a platform to the budding youth to showcase their talent. He said that J&K Police is wholeheartedly taking part in Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign by organizing various programmes across J&K. He said that it is high time to provide opportunities to the youth to express themselves, adding that Hon’ble LG J&K Shri Manoj Sinha during his yesterday’s visit to South Kashmir’s twin districts has revived the means of entertainment for the youth of Kashmir. He said that time is not far when Kashmiri youth will direct and make their own movies and showcase their talent to the world.

He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir overwhelmingly participated in the national events like Har Ghar Tiranga & Independence Day celebrations.The DGP said that social media is being used by Pakistan to instigate youth to foment trouble here but the youth & people of Jammu and Kashmir have understood the evil conspiracy and have rejected the path of violence. He said that Police, CAPFs are working day & night to consolidate peace in J&K.

After the event, the DGP chaired officers meeting to review the security scenario of the district. Addressing the meeting the DGP stressed for high alertness and vigilance so that no chance is provided to anti national elements to revive their structure. DGP directed for settling down the sensitive cases on priority. Stressing for intensified efforts against the drug trade the DGP directed to book habitual offenders under PSA.

SSP Kishtwar Shri Shafqat Hussain Batt and officers of Army & CRPF briefed the DGP about the measures taken to maintain peace and order in the district. Besides ADGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh the meeting was attended by DIG DKR range Dr Sunil Gupta and other jurisdictional officers of Police, Army & CRPF.

The DGP accompanied by ADGP Jammu and DIG DKR range later visited Neel Top, Mal Tragan Ramban and had an interaction with a huge local gathering.

Speaking on the occasion the DGP complimented the people for maintaining brotherhood and taking part in peace activities. He alerted them about the cross border conspiracies. Advising the youth to take part in sports activities, the DGP directed the officers to organise sports events for them. He gave patient listening to the issues highlighted by the participants and assured early redressal.

Doda police here has arrested a notorious accused involved in incidents of thefts of motor bikes with six number of stolen vehicles have so far been recovered from his possession.

Police said to have succeeded to crack cases of bikes thefts from different area of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested one accused namely Shadab Mir son of Abdul Qayoom Mir resident of Dandi Bhaderwah who has been arrested in case FIR no.209/22 U/S 379 IPC.

 Police said that on the basis of his disclosure, police teams have so far managed to recover 6 motor bikes worth lakhs of rupees.

It is pertinent to mention here that from last one month Doda police received complaints regarding bike theft and accordingly a team of Police station Doda was swung into action that collected vital clues through technical as well as human intelligence and finally managed to apprehend the said accused from Bhaderwah area and cracked the case of bike theft.

It is also learnt during investigation that accused used to steal motor bikes during wee hours in morning and used his INNOVA car for transportation of stolen bikes.

It is also pertinent to mention here that accused is highly qualified (B. TECH MECHANICAL) and shopkeeper by profession.

JAMMU, Sept 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee is set to pass a resolution urging Rahul Gandhi to lead the party as President.
The meeting is in progress in Jammu where the All India Congress Committee in-charge Rajni Patil and Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO), J-K, Ranjit Ranjan are also present.
After Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the Tamil Nadu and Bihar units of the Congress have now passed resolutions that Rahul Gandhi should again become the President of the party. The resolution was passed in a TNCC General Council Meeting held earlier today. The notification for the Congress president’s election will be out on September 22.
Nominations for the post of Congress president can be filed from September 24 to September 30. The last day of filing the nomination is September 30, 2022, and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is October 8.
Congress Working Committee (CWC) had decided that the election for the Congress president post will be held on October 17, sources said earlier. The counting of votes will be done on October 19.
Earlier on Saturday, the Rajasthan Congress passed a resolution to make Rahul Gandhi the party’s president. A day after, on Sunday, the Chhattisgarh unit of the party too followed suit.
“The following 2 resolutions have been unanimously passed in the meeting of state Congress representatives today: 1) AICC President authorized to constitute AICC Delegate, PCC President, Treasurer and State Executive 2) Shri Rahul Gandhi to take over as the National President again,” Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted after passing the resolution.
Later, talking to the media, CM Baghel said: “Chhattisgarh Congress Committee and Rajasthan Cong Committee have made this proposal. It has been done in 2 states but if this proposal comes from other states too, then Rahul ji should rethink this matter.” (Agencies)

KISHTWAR: Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Monday said that militancy in J&K was on crutches and Kishtwar district it was almost zero as one or two militants are active in the area who will be eliminated soon.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event here, the DGP said that militancy in J&K was on crutches and those remaining will soon be either arrested or killed. “In Kishtwar, there are just one or two militants active who will be arrested of killed very soon,” the J&K police chief said.

He said that in J&K means of entertainment are being revived again. “Yesterday, LG Manoj Sinhaji visited two districts of South Kashmir—Pulwama and Shopian. He revived theater facilities for youth as a means of entertainment,” DGP Singh said, adding that “Srinagar will soon see multiplex functional which will be a great means of entertainment of its youth.”

He said that there is a long list of movies which famous directors want to shoot in J&K for which this place was once popular. “I am sure that time is not far when J&K youth will themselves direct movies of different nature,” Singh said.

To a query about Hurriyat Conference, he said Hurriyat was nowhere in J&K at present. “But a new chapter of Hurriyat has been opened in Pakistan to provoke people of J&K. Once such example was its band call on August 5 this year which was totally ignored by the people of J&K,” he said, adding that there was no bandh anywhere in J&K and instead there were huge celebrations everywhere.

Replying to a query about Madrasas in J&K, he said majority of such institutions are doing great work by honing the talent of youth. “Some may be used for misguiding youth and such institutions are under watch,” he said, adding that “watchdogs of peace in J&K were active and doing their best to ensure peace becomes a permanent feature. Police, and other security forces, besides civil administration are working day and night to cement peace in the UT.”

The DGP said that social media propaganda to foment trouble and to lure youth towards violence and drugs are being countered effectively by the security forces and administration.

New Delhi, Sept 19: Union Minister Jitendra Singh will lead the Joint Indian Ministerial official delegation of the Ministry of Power, New and Renewable Energy and Ministry of Science and Technology on a five-day visit to USA to participate in the Global Clean Energy Action Forum. The delegation is scheduled to leave India today.
During the visit, the Union minister will interact with eminent academicians as well as the Indian diaspora.
Talking about this visit, minister Singh said: “I think it’s a matter of right for all of us that this is possibly the first conference of its kind in the global clean energy Action Forum where at least 30 countries will be presented by their respective ministers plus official delegations, the CEOs.”
“And this also is a reiteration of the fact that India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now assumed a leading role as far as this climate movement is concerned. You will recall that soon after he took over as Prime Minister 2014 In his early months itself, in many of the international forums he was expressing concern about the climate issues and also trying to clear India’s stand and also trying to urge all the countries of the world to come together and put up a united crusade in the interest of mankind at large.”
Further, speaking about India’s announcement at COP26 summit, he underlined Prime Minister Modi India’s commitment to get to the Net Zero target by 2070.
In order to achieve this, minister Singh believes the country need to have the participation of all stakeholders.
“That is why this conference is going to be held in Pittsburgh, the CEOs from different parts of the world are going to become participants, the business community leaders, the scientists, the R&D representatives, and after the government officials.”
In addition, minister Singh-led delegation will also hold interaction with academicians, eminent scientists, business leaders, both in Washington also in Pittsburgh. (Agencies)
