Himalayan Express is an independent news organisation reporting from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, with a nationwide lens on the stories that matter to the Himalayan region. We publish in print, on the web and on our e-paper — every single day.

What we do

Our newsroom covers governance, ground reports, explained journalism, business, sports, education and culture. We believe in reporting that is close to the ground, verified twice, and written for the reader — not for the algorithm.

Our promise

• Accuracy first — every story is checked before it is published.
• Fairness always — every person named in a story gets a fair chance to respond.
• Corrections, quickly — when we get something wrong, we say so openly.
• No paid news — advertising is clearly labelled and never influences coverage.

The team

Himalayan Express is produced by a team of reporters, editors, photographers and video journalists based in Jammu and Srinagar. Our correspondents report from every district of Jammu & Kashmir, from Ladakh, and from major cities across India.
