Bhadarwah March 06 : Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm across additional district Bhaderwah on Thursday.
Devotees in large numbers made a beeline to famous ancient Gupt Ganga temple build by Pandavs on the banks of Neel-Ganga also known as Neeru river.
The ancient Gupt Ganga temple in the town housing massive Shiv-ling and Hanuman temple including were tastefully decorated on the occasion. Devotees offered worship right from dawn to seek the blessings of Vayuputra.
Large number of Volunteers of VHP especially youth and priests of Gupt Ganga temple performed recitation of Hanuman Chalisa in a traditional manner.
Satish Kotwal, Secretary VHP Jammu and Kashmir while speaking on the occasion, said that Hanuman Jayanti is considered as one of the significant festivals and VHP has been celebrating the festival every year with great enthusiasm, religious fervour and sanctity amid a massive participation of devotees especially youth.
“Bhaderwah is the land of Lord Vasuki Nag and the valley houses ancient temples, unique Nag rituals and pilgrimages but the Govt is not doing enough to properly project it as pilgrimage destination,” said Satish Kotwal.
“The annual Kailash Yatra is one of the unique features of ancient Nag culture, hope present dispensation will understand it’s importance and our demand is that this yera LG should inaugurate this pilgrimage,” Kotwal added.
Later VHP also took out Shoba Yatra in the form of bike rally from Gupt Ganga temple which passed from different markets of Bhaderwah town and culminated at Nalthi Village.
The procession resonated with the chants of Jai Shri Ram. The entire route was decorated with saffron flags while locals showered flowers on the procession.
Adequte security arrangements were made by the police and CRPF enroute Shoba Yatra.
“All the security arrangements are in place and we diverted traffic for some time to facilitate smooth procession and bike rally. Every thing went as planned and the procession culminated smoothly at Nalthi Village,” said Kameshwar Puri SP Bhaderwah.
Sangeeta Bhagat vice Chairperson district Development Council Doda who along with Chairman Block Development Council Bhadarwah Omi Chand Bhagat participated in the Shoba Yatra said, “government is committed to preserve the unique and ancient cultural beside religious hertigae. Bhadarwah region which is abode of ancient Nag culture, historical temples and pilgrimages will soon be brought on the calender of international religious tourism as a road map is already being put in place.”
