BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has strongly criticized National Conference (NC) leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah for his contentious remarks regarding Operation Sindoor. Chugh’s statement came on Monday amidst escalating tensions over security measures in Jammu & Kashmir.
Farooq Abdullah claimed that Operation Sindoor, which involved crucial counter-terrorism actions, “did not achieve anything.” Chugh labeled his comments as “shameful,” asserting that Abdullah and his family fail to respect the sacrifices made by Indian Armed Forces.
Chugh emphasized that the forces had made significant strides, notably demolishing numerous terrorist training centers in Pakistan following the tragic deaths of 26 civilians in Pahalgam due to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He stated, **“It is disgraceful for a prominent leader to diminish the efforts of our brave security personnel.”**
The BJP leader highlighted that Operation Sindoor remains active, pointing to a recent blast at the Nowgam Police Station as an example of ongoing threats. He described this incident as **“yet another reminder”** of the valor exhibited by security personnel in combating Pakistan-backed terror plots.
Chugh went on to accuse the Abdullah family, the Muftis, and the Gandhi family of **“playing into the hands of Pakistan and the ISI,”** despite holding esteemed political roles in India. He found it **“shocking”** for Abdullah to question the actions of security forces amid revelations of one of the **“biggest terror conspiracies”** in recent years, which intelligence agencies successfully thwarted.
Chugh directly challenged Abdullah’s motives, asking whether he intended to show sympathy for those involved in amassing **2,900 kilograms of explosives**, a cache that could have inflicted catastrophic damage on innocent civilians. He described the foiled terror plot as **“colossal in scale,”** emphasizing the potential for tragedy had it not been intercepted by the J&K police and allied agencies.
Notably, Chugh honored the lives lost during the Nowgam Police Station blast, where nine revenue and police personnel died while managing the seized explosives. He termed the incident **“heartbreaking for the entire nation,”** critiquing Abdullah for not recognizing the sacrifices made by these martyrs.
Rather than extending his acknowledgment towards the bravery of security forces, Abdullah’s comments insinuated a **“language of Pakistan,”** according to Chugh. The BJP leader’s assertions revealed a broader political critique, questioning whether Abdullah’s sentiments align with those of the **“Gupkar Gang,”** referring to a political alliance opposing the BJP in Jammu & Kashmir.
Chugh didn’t shy away from implicating Congress and Rahul Gandhi in this discussion, challenging them to clarify their positions while promoting their **“Mohabbat Ki Dukaan”** initiative. He urged political leaders to prioritize national security and support the armed forces fighting to protect the country.
