New Delhi, Apr 4 : Gourav Vallabh, a prominent Congress spokesperson, tendered his resignation from all party posts and membership on Thursday, citing his inability to endorse anti-Sanatan sentiments and consistently criticize ‘wealth creators’. Vallabh shared his resignation letter addressed to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge via the social media platform X. Expressing discomfort with the perceived lack of direction within the party, Vallabh emphasized, “I can neither promote anti-Sanatan sentiments nor continuously denounce wealth creators. Therefore, I hereby resign from all party posts and primary membership.” Having refrained from participating in party-related television programs for several months and holding press conferences, Vallabh highlighted his growing disconnection from the party’s activities. In his resignation letter, Vallabh reflected on his initial belief upon joining the Congress that it was the oldest party in the country, respecting youth and their innovative ideas. However, he lamented that the party seemed incapable of embracing the ideas of the youth in recent times. Vallabh criticized the Congress for being out of touch with the ground reality, failing to comprehend the aspirations of contemporary India, and consequently, faltering in both securing power and serving as a robust opposition. Expressing disappointment with the party’s decision to distance itself from the Ram Mandir ‘Pran Pratishtha’ program in Ayodhya, Vallabh, a Hindu by birth and a teacher by profession, conveyed his deep-seated discomfort with the party’s silence on issues concerning Sanatan Dharma. Addressing the contentious issue of caste census, Vallabh accused the party of contradicting itself by supporting the census while seemingly opposing the Hindu society as a whole. He argued that such a stance contradicted the fundamental principles of the Congress. Further, Vallabh criticized the Congress’s approach to economic matters, asserting that it consistently belittled wealth creators and maintained a negative outlook on every disinvestment initiative in the country. He expressed a sense of suffocation with the party’s economic stance. In conclusion, Vallabh’s resignation underscored his dissatisfaction with the party’s ideological stance and strategic direction, prompting him to sever ties with the Congress.
