Clearing Weather in Jammu and Kashmir; Gulmarg Records Minus 1°C

Srinagar, Apr 04: Following rainfall in Kashmir Valley and parts of Jammu, the weather cleared on Thursday morning, with varying night temperatures across different regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to officials, over the last 24 hours until 0830 hours, Srinagar received 6.8mm of rainfall, while Qazigund recorded 6.0mm, Pahalgam 5.4mm, Kupwara 4.9mm, Kokernag 6.2mm, Gulmarg 2.2mm, Banihal 1.8mm, and Bhaderwah 1.0mm.

In terms of night temperatures, Srinagar saw a minimum of 7.2°C, slightly above the previous night’s 8.0°C. Qazigund recorded a minimum of 7.4°C, up from 7.0°C, while Pahalgam registered a low of 2.8°C compared to 2.5°C the previous night.

Kokernag saw a minimum temperature of 6.1°C, down from 6.8°C, and Kupwara recorded 4.9°C, a slight drop from 6.8°C. Gulmarg experienced a low of minus 1.0°C, lower than the previous night’s 2.0°C.

Jammu recorded a minimum of 17.5°C, slightly above normal by 0.4°C. Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah registered lows of 9.0°C, 10.4°C, and 7.2°C, respectively.

The forecast indicates generally dry weather over the next 24 hours. However, on Friday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy with light rain or snow in isolated areas.

Isolated to scattered light rain or thunderstorms are anticipated over Jammu and Kashmir from early Friday morning.

From April 6-10, generally dry weather is expected, followed by generally cloudy conditions with light rain or snow at isolated places from April 11-12. From April 13-15, generally cloudy skies with intermittent light rain or snow in many areas are predicted.
