SRINAGAR, May 5: A search operation carried out by J&K Police in the Kakapora area of Pulwama led to the arrest of one person and seizure of a cache of arms and ammunition on Thursday. The operation was conducted following a tip-off about the presence of weapons and explosives in a residential house.
The suspect, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, was found in possession of a pistol, two magazines, and 15 rounds of ammunition. Police officials stated that the seized arms and ammunition were intended for use in terrorist activities in the region.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is ongoing. The police have appealed to locals to provide any information about such activities to maintain peace and stability in the area.
