Rajouri, May 05 : Two Army jawans were martyred and four others, including an officer, were injured in an encounter with terrorists in the Keri area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
The encounter broke out in the Keri area after a joint team of the police and Army launched a cordon and search operation on the basis of specific inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
As the security forces zeroed in on the hiding terrorists, they fired upon them, triggering a gunfight.
During the exchange of fire, two Army jawans were martyred and four others, including an officer, sustained injuries, the officials said.
The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment, they said, adding that the operation was still underway till last reports came in.
