that the government had done much of its job by incorporating Dogri language in the 8 th  schedule of
Indian constitution through the Ninety-Second Amendment Act, 2003 and The Jammu and Kashmir

dormant for quite some time must be activated and an exclusive Dogri Doordarshan Channel and Dogri
Radio Station must be established to take the voice of Dogras to far off areas of the UT and across the

Random RT-PCR sampling of passengers started at International airports: Mansukh Mandaviya on Covid situation

0

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday said that the government has started random RT-PCR sampling among the passengers arriving at International airports in the country amid the recent surge of Coronavirus infection in various countries including China, Japan, South Korea, France, and the United States.

“We have also started the random RT-PCR sampling among passengers arriving at International airports in the country. We are committed to tackling the pandemic and are taking appropriate steps,” Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in his statement in the Lok Sabha while advising the States to make sure that people wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing even during the festive and the New Year season. He also encouraged the states to increase awareness towards precautionary doses against Coronavirus.

“We are keeping an eye on the global Covid situation and are taking steps accordingly. The States are advised to increase genome-sequencing to timely identify the new variant of Covid-19,” Mandaviya added.
He further said that the health department has been proactive in managing the Covid pandemic. The Centre has also provided financial assistance to States in the fight against the pandemic, he added.

“So far, 220 crore covid vaccine shots have been given,” the Health Minister mentioned.

Mandaviya then claimed that the number of Covid cases is depleting in India despite its surge across the world.
“From the last few days, Covid cases have been rising in the world but in India, the cases are depleting. We are seeing rising Covid cases and deaths due to it in China,” he said.

Notably, Mandaviya chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review the COVID-19 situation in India and the preparedness of the public health system for surveillance, containment, and management of COVID-19. He urged people to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour and get vaccinated against the virus.
Emphasizing that COVID-19 is not over yet, he asked the officials to be fully geared up and strengthen surveillance.

Mandaviya has already directed the officials to be fully geared up and strengthen the surveillance system for whole genome sequencing of positive case samples to track the variants through the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) network to ensure the timely detection of newer variants, if any, circulating in the country.

BJP govt grappling with the mess of its own creation: Harsh Dev

0

Udhampur, 22-12-2022: Former Minister and senior AAP leader, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that having enticed the gullible masses with its seductive slogans, the BJP govt had literally and figuratively failed to fulfil its commitments made by it during Assembly and Parliamentary elections resulting in massive public outrage. “While the unemployed were assured of Job bonanzas with gainful employment for all educated youth, the general masses were lured by the most glamorous slogans of ‘Achhe Din’, ‘Sabka saath-Sabka Vikas’ etc. And above all, the BJP leadership had promised to curb inflation and to improve and ameliorate the lot of common man by framing people friendly policies. Unfortunately 8 years down the line what we find is all-round dis-enchantment with a hapless BJP govt grappling with the mess of its own creation”, said Mr. Harsh Dev while interacting with several people during his tour of village Kashirah of Udhampur East constituency where he had been invited by the locals of the area to highlight the burning issues of the public.

Ridiculing the loud proclamations made by the BJP leadership of creating two crore jobs per year for unemployed educated youth, Mr. Singh said that the govt’s post election conduct had only amounted to rubbing salt on wounds of such youth. The ‘Agniveer’ scheme announced by the govt had not only antagonized the young aspirants all over the country, but had unravelled the insensitivity of a highly apathetic govt in its true colours. Recruiting youth for four years and them retiring them at young age of 22 or 23 years was a typical example of “use and throw” policy against the youth besides constituting a human right violation of a grave order. BSF and CISF aspirants had been treated most shabbily by the govt resulting in massive resentment against the present regime. Plight of NYCs, REKs, REJs, REZs, DRWs, Contractuals etc was equally pathetic with damocles’ sword of dis-engagement hanging over their heads. And despite repeated promises of regularization made with them, they were being treated as disposables facing constant threat of termination. The result therefore was obvious with massive outrage amongst such youth having led to governance fiasco besides law and order problems of serious nature. Likewise the promises made by the BJP leadership with various other aspirational groups had proved mere hyperboles creating huge unrest amongst the public at large, rued Mr. Singh. He assured the people that their problems pertaining to power and water crisis would be projected before the appropriate authorities for immediate redressal.

All Frontline AAP leaders in J&K are highly corrupt, says Rajesh Gupta

National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) claimed that AAP would be rejected by the people of J&K where Assembly polls are
scheduled for 2023. All Frontline AAP leaders in J&K are highly corrupt.
With Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launching a pitch to “Make India Number 1” ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the
National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) president Rajesh Gupta on Thursday in an interview said the Aam Aadmi Party
(AAP) Convener was gearing up to cheat and betray the entire country by making grandiose appeals to people as well as
political parties to join his self styled national mission to make India the number one country in the world.
NDPI Chief said people will never trust the Delhi CM. “Kejriwal’s chameleon character and history of lies and deceit is known
to everyone. He first deceived his political guru Anna Hazare by going against him. He vowed that the India Against
Corruption (IAC) movement would remain a social movement only and that he would never make a political party but went
back on his words.
“Kejriwal is also known for vowing on the heads of his children that he would never take the support of the Congress party
to form a government in Delhi but did just that in his lust for power,” the NDPI leader said.
Gupta said Kejriwal has betrayed Punjabis who trusted his words that all women would be given Rs 1,000 per month and
that there would be jobs for youth while voting his party to power with an overwhelming majority.
The NDPI leader said far from doing anything for Punjab, Kejriwal had made the state a subsidiary of Delhi and usurped all
powers of governance for himself and his lackeys like Raghav Chadha. “He (Kejriwal) stands thoroughly exposed. No one will
believe him now. He should stop day dreaming of becoming Prime Minister by resorting to such Missions,” he added.
Rajesh Gupta further said Delhi residents were “feeling suffocated” by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), equating it to Delhi’s
noxious winter air pollution levels.“ Arvind Kejriwal has given Delhi a highly corrupt model of governance. He has made false
claims that can never be achieved… It is the first time we have seen a government work in such a shameless manner,” said
Gupta. ,“The people of Delhi want freedom from the pollution, and in the same way, also want to get rid of Kejriwal’s
government.” he said. “Kejriwal first appeared as someone who wanted to be a social activist, but right now, he is the most
corrupt chief minister in the country,” Gupta maintained.

Shehbaz approves Najam Sethi’s appointment as Pak cricket board chief

0

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the appointment of Najam Sethi as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Sources privy to the matter said that a change in the PCB board of governors will be notified on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

Officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that the Prime Minister’s Office will release four notifications related to the appointment.

They said one notification will be issued notifying the abolishment of the 2019 constitution of the cricket board. The other will notify the termination of the two names nominated for the chairmanship under the 2019 constitution, while the third notification will then restore the 2014 constitution.

The fourth notification will notify the establishment of a “set up” to run the existing board.

Reports of incumbent PCB Chiar Ramiz Raja’s replacement had circulated a few times in the past, however, he had rejected the claims and maintained he was not “going anywhere”.

Later, it was also reported that the incumbent government had decided to sack the current PCB chairman, Geo News reported.

However, Raja had called PCB staffers to tell them that he had gotten a “green signal” from the government to continue working.

“I have been told to continue working as (the) PCB chairman,” Raja had told PCB staffers.

The former Pakistan captain was elected as the chairman of the cricket board unopposed on September 13, 2021, during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

The PCB’s top post had fell vacant after Ehsan Mani stepped down following the completion of his three-year term, Geo News reported.

In parliament today: Oppn walkout from RS, LS adjourned, MPs asked to mask up, and more

0

NEW DELHI: Led by the Congress, the entire Opposition boycotted the Rajya Sabha proceeding for the day on Thursday after a discussion on the China border issue was disallowed in the House.

They also raised an objection to certain remarks made on Bihar by the Leader of the House Piyush Goyal earlier during the session.

In the morning session (Zero Hour), the Opposition stood in protest and entered the Well of the House, demanding a discussion on the issue of border conflict with China and Goyal’s remark which they alleged was an “insult” to Bihar.

While Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar repeatedly appealed to the protesting members to take their seats, the unrelenting MPs continued to raise slogans.

“We have been demanding a discussion on the border conflict with China from day one but the government is adamant. The entire opposition has decided to boycott the proceedings of the House for the entire day today,” Congress leader K C Venugopal told PTI.

The Leader of the House has also insulted Bihar and its millions of people by his remarks.

Other opposition members also joined the Congress in boycotting the proceedings to press their demand for a discussion on China and an apology from the Leader of House for his remarks on Bihar.

Goyal made the remark on Tuesday when RJD MP Manoj Jha was speaking during a discussion on the Appropriation Bill seeking Parliament’s nod for additional spending.

As he said the government should devote equal attention to the poor and corporate houses, Goyal responded saying “inka bas chale to desh ko Bihar bana dein (if they have their way, they will turn the country into Bihar).”

Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the second time on Thursday amid the opposition’s persistent demand for a discussion on the China-India border issue.

As soon as the House reassembled at 12 noon after the first adjournment, opposition members again raised the demand for a discussion on the issue and shouted slogans.

Amid noisy scenes, the standing committee reports and other documents were laid on the table of the House.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said since the winter session would conclude on Friday, important legislative business should be allowed to take place.

He also said that in the past, when the UPA was in power, no discussion on such sensitive issue was allowed in the House and the opposition had agreed to that.

Rajendra Agrawal, who was chairing the proceedings, urged the members to allow the House to function smoothly as Thursday was practically the last day to take up legislative business.

With the opposition refusing to relent, he adjourned the proceedings till 2 pm.
