People celebrates 811th Urs of Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz in Bhadarwah and Kishtwar, special prayers held

Bhadarwah:- Like many parts of the country, 811th Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Chisti (RA) of Ajmer Sharif (Known as Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz) was also celebrated at Bhadarwah and Kishtwar areas of Chenab Valley with great enthusiasm and religious fervour.
Large number of people participated in special prayers organised by Shah family of Bunastan Kishtwar under the chairmanship of President Anjuman Tablig-ul-Islam Jammu province Haji Fareed Ahmed Shah.
Meanwhile Dar Family of Bhadarwah under the supervision of Khawaja Jamal Din Dar also organized special prayers at Kotli area of Bhadarwah, on the auspicious occasion of 811th Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Chishti.It is notable that people of Jammu and Kashmir especially of Chenab Valley have faith and are among the followers of Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Chisti. Every year hundreds of people visit Shrine of Gareeb Nawaz at Ajmer.
While speaking on the occasion, Haji Fareed Ahmed Shah threw light on the life of Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Chisti (RA) who during his life time preached and enlightened the people with knowledge of peace, prosperity and brotherhood.
In the year 1970, Shah family unanimously decided to held the Urs at Kishtwar every year since then likewise they use to celebrate the annual Urs of Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz, in which people from all strata of life without their religious affiliation participated in the Urs organized at Kishtwar. Dar family of Bhadarwah also celebrating the Urs of Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz in Bhadarwah since 2005.
President Anjuman Tablig-ul-Islam Jammu province Haji Fareed Ahmed Shah said that among others his family are the great followers of the Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz. He said that the history is the testimony to the preachings of Khawaja Gareeb Nawaz.
Khwaja Jamal Din Dar of Bhadarwah said that Khawaja ji had migrated from Saudi Arabia to India with only aim to teach and impart the religious education to the poor and downtrodden and enlightened them with knowledge to understand the meaning of life given to him by God and its importance.
Beside recitation of Quraan, Hadith and Naat Shareef, special prayers were also held for the peace, Communal Harmony and brotherhood in the JKUT as well as country. Tabrukaat were served to all people at Kishtwar and Bhadarwah.

Hideout busted, destroyed in Awantipora, 4 LeT militant associates arrested: Police
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have destroyed a hideout and also arrested four militant associates of Lashkar-i-Toiba oufit in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
In a tweet, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “Police alongwith security forces busted & destroyed terrorist hideout in Hafoo Nageenpora forests of Awantipora. 04 militant associates linked with terror outfit LeT arrested. Incriminating materials & other items recovered. Case registered, investigation in progress,”.
Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi play with snow in Kashmir as Bharat Jodo Yatra ends
SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra enjoined snowfall at Congress headquarters here on Monday, the day marking the end of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The siblings were seen playing with snow, throwing it on each other to express their joy, eyewitnesses told.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi also unfurled the tricolor flag at the Congress headquarters in Srinagar. He ended his over 4,000 km march, covering 12 states over a span of five months.
The Congress party is set for a show of Opposition unity, having extended invitations to 21 political parties for its rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium here later today. The party said Congress president Mallikarjum Kharge will unveil a memorial for the BJY.
Rahul Gandhi Unfurls Flag At ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ Campsite, Kharge At PCC Office
SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hoisted the national flag at the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ camp site here and followed it with a fun snowball fight with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Donning a white T-shirt and a sleeveless jacket, the former Congress chief hoisted the flag at the camp site in Panthachowk to the tunes of the national anthem played to mark the culmination of the yatra, amid a fresh snowfall in the city.
In a brief address to the ‘Bharat Yatris’, Gandhi thanked them for their love, affection and support through the 136-day foot march, which began in Kanyakumari on September 7 last year.
The Gandhi siblings later joined Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and scores of other party leaders at the Pradesh Congress Committee office on the Maulana Azad Road where another flag hoisting ceremony was held. The national anthem was playing after this.
The local administration had made stringent security arrangements for the programme as Lal Chowk was off limits for vehicular traffic for the second consecutive day.
Thousands of office goers had to foot the distance of around a kilometre or more to reach their work places in Lal Chowk and the adjoining areas.
Gandhi had on Sunday unfurled the national flag at the iconic clock tower in Lal Chowk to mark the end of the foot march of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
SC agrees to hear plea against Centre’s decision to ban BBC documentary
The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to list on February 6 a Public Interest Litigation against the Centre’s decision to ban a BBC documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots in the country.
A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said it would list the matter for hearing on next Monday. Advocate ML Sharma, who has filed the PIL, mentioned the matter for early hearing.
The PIL sought quashing of the January 21 order of the Centre, terming it “illegal, mala fide, arbitrary and unconstitutional”.
Meanwhile, senior advocate CU Singh also mentioned before the bench on how tweets by senior journalist N Ram and advocate Prashant Bhushan with links of the BBC documentary were deleted using “emergency powers” and how students from Ajmer were suspended for streaming the documentary.
The PIL filed by advocate Sharma also urged the apex court to call and examine the BBC documentary – both parts I and II – and sought action against persons who were responsible and were involved directly and indirectly with the 2002 Gujarat riots.
PIL has raised a constitutional question and the apex court has to decide whether citizens have the right under Article 19 (1) (2) to see news, facts and reports on the 2002 Gujarat riots, Sharma said.
“Issue writ of mandamus to the Respondent for quashing of the impugned order dated January 21, 2023 issued under rule 16 of IT rule 2021 being illegal, malafide and arbitrary unconstitutional and void ab-initio and ultra vires to the Constitution of India to provide complete justice,” the PIL stated.
As per the sources, on January 21, the Centre had issued directions for blocking multiple YouTube videos and Twitter posts sharing links to the controversial BBC documentary.
Whether the central government can curtail freedom of press which is a fundamental right as guaranteed under Article 19 (1) (2) of the Constitution, asked the PIL.
It added, “Whether without having an Emergency declared under Article 352 of the Constitution of India by the president, Emergency provisions can be invoked by the central government?”
Jammu-Srinagar highway closed due to shooting stones
Jammu, Jan 30: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to shooting stones and mudslides between Chanderkot and Banihal, officials said on Monday.
“Jammu-Srinagar NH blocked due to shooting stones and mudslides at several places between Chanderkot and Banihal,” Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police said.
The highway is the lifeline of the Kashmir valley and the main road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country.
Kashmir-bound trucks laden with essential supplies and other vehicles pass through the highway and fruit carrying trucks from Kashmir head for rest of the country through this road.
Adani Issues 413-Page Response Calls Hindenburg Allegations Attack On India
NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Richest Indian Gautam Adani’s group on Sunday likened the damning allegations made by short seller Hindenburg Research to a “calculated attack” on India, its institutions and growth story, saying the allegations are “nothing but a lie”. In a 413-page response, Adani Group said the report was driven by “an ulterior motive” to “create a false market” to allow the US firm to make financial gains.
“This is not merely an unwarranted attack on any specific company but a calculated attack on India, the independence, integrity and quality of Indian institutions, and the growth story and ambition of India,” it said.
Stating that the allegations in Hindenburg Research’s January 24 report are “nothing but a lie”, it said the document is “a malicious combination of selective misinformation and concealed facts relating to baseless and discredited allegations to drive an ulterior motive”.
“This is rife with conflict of interest and intended only to create a false market in securities to enable Hindenburg, an admitted short seller, to book massive financial gain through wrongful means at the cost of countless investors,” it said.
It went on to question the credibility and ethics of Hindenburg, and said the mala fide intention underlying the report were apparent given its timing when Adani Enterprises Limited is undertaking one of the largest ever further public offering of equity shares in India.
“Hindenburg has not published this report for any altruistic reasons but purely out of selfish motives and in flagrant breach of applicable securities and foreign exchange laws,” it said. “The report is neither ‘independent’ nor ‘objective’ nor ‘well researched’.”
Activist short seller Hindenburg Research, the firm which caught global attention with takedowns of electric-vehicle makers Nikola and Lordstown Motors, alleged in a report on Wednesday that its two-year investigation found the Adani Group “engaged in a brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme over the course of decades”.
The report by the tiny New York firm that specialises in short selling has led to Adani group losing more than USD 50 billion in market value in just two trading sessions and Adani himself losing in excess of USD 20 billion, or about one-fifth of his total fortune.
Hindenburg called out the conglomerate’s “substantial debt”, which includes pledging shares for loans; that Adani’s brother Vinod “manages a vast labyrinth of offshore shell entities” that move billions into group companies without required disclosure; and that its auditor “hardly seems capable of complex audit work”.
Of the 88 questions raised by Hindenburg, 65 of them relate to matters that have been duly disclosed by Adani portfolio companies, Adani Group said. “Of the balance 23 questions, 18 relate to public shareholders and third parties (and not the Adani portfolio companies), while the balance 5 are baseless allegations based on imaginary fact patterns.”
It listed questions from the report and dismissed them as “false suggestions based on malicious misrepresentation of governance practices” or “manipulated narrative around unrelated third party entities” or “biased and unsubstantiated rhetoric”.
“We reaffirm that we are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. We are committed to the highest levels of governance to protect the interests of all our stakeholders,” it said. “The Adani Portfolio also has very strong internal controls and audit controls. All the listed companies of Adani Portfolio have a robust governance framework.”
The focus of the Adani portfolio and the Adani verticals is to contribute to nation building and take India to the world, it said.
“We will exercise our rights to pursue remedies to safeguard our stakeholders before all appropriate authorities and we reserve our rights to respond further to any of the allegations or contents of the Hindenburg report or to supplement this statement,” it added. (Agencies)
