Rana Sanga’s Bravery Will Inspire Generations: CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday paid tribute to Rana Sanga, the legendary Rajput warrior-king, on his birth anniversary, calling him a timeless symbol of patriotism and courage.

Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister posted in Hindi:
“On the birth anniversary of the mighty Rana Sanga Ji, who was dedicated to the protection of dharma, heartfelt salutations! His tale of valor, embodying patriotism and sacrifice, is a golden chapter in Indian history. His bravery will continue to nourish the spirit of self-respect in the land of Bharat for centuries to come.”

The occasion was marked by gatherings of Kshatriya groups across Uttar Pradesh, with a major show of strength held in Agra. The commemorations come amid recent controversies involving Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman, whose remarks referring to Rana Sanga as a “traitor” sparked widespread outrage among Rajput communities.

Earlier, on April 8, around three dozen Kshatriya groups, including Karni Sena and Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, gathered in Lucknow demanding an apology from Suman. The protest took place at the prominent 1090 Crossing.

The situation escalated on March 27, when Karni Sena activists allegedly vandalised Suman’s residence near Hari Parvat Chauraha in Agra. Several vehicles were damaged, chairs and windows were broken in protest against his controversial remarks made in Parliament.

Following the incident, Agra Police registered an FIR against unidentified individuals, even as political tensions rose. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav criticized the state’s law and order and held CM Adityanath accountable for any harm to the MP.
He also accused the BJP government of nurturing a “hidden underground force” that he claims is “targeting opposition voices and humiliating citizens.”

Despite the controversy, tributes to Rana Sanga remained the focal point of the day, with many highlighting his legacy as an emblem of Rajput pride and resistance.

India Submits Bid to Host 2031 AFC Asian Cup, Faces Stiff Competition

0

India has officially submitted its Expression of Interest (EoI) to host the 2031 AFC Asian Cup, marking another bold step by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to bring top-tier international football to the country.

AIFF Deputy Secretary General M Satyanarayan confirmed the development, saying, “Yes, we have submitted the EoI to host the 2031 AFC Asian Cup. Let us see how it goes.”

India is among seven nations that submitted bids before the March 31 deadline. The list includes football heavyweights Australia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, along with Indonesia, Kuwait, and a joint bid from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Of these, Australia, UAE, South Korea, and Kuwait have previously hosted the tournament, making the competition for hosting rights intense.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which opened the bidding process on November 27, 2024, received what President Shaikh Salman called the “highest ever number of Expressions of Interest in modern history”, highlighting the tournament’s growing global significance.

“The unprecedented level of interest we have witnessed reflects both the high ambitions of the AFC’s Member Associations and their increasing confidence in their own capabilities to host such a significant tournament,” Salman said during the AFC Executive Committee meeting in Kuala Lumpur ahead of the 35th AFC Congress.

The next step in the selection process will include a bidding workshop later this month. Participating nations will then submit detailed bid documentation, followed by an extensive evaluation by the AFC. The final host will be selected by the AFC Congress in 2026.

If selected, India will automatically qualify for the 24-team tournament. Historically, India’s best performance came in 1964 when they finished as runners-up. Since then, the team has struggled in the group stages — bowing out early in the 1984, 2011, 2019, and 2023 editions.

India has never hosted the AFC Asian Cup. Previous attempts to bring the tournament to Indian soil — for the 2023 and 2027 editions — were withdrawn. The 2027 bid was pulled in December 2022, shortly after Kalyan Chaubey took over as AIFF President, citing that hosting major events was not a strategic priority at the time.

That decision cleared the way for Saudi Arabia to become the sole host of the 2027 tournament.

With the current EoI for 2031, India is once again in contention to stage Asia’s premier men’s football competition, reflecting renewed ambition to grow the sport domestically and on the continental stage.

LG Manoj Sinha Addresses ‘Ayodhya Parv-2025’, Celebrates Cultural and Spiritual Legacy of Shri Ram’s Birthplace

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, today addressed the grand cultural celebration ‘Ayodhya Parv-2025’ held in New Delhi. The three-day event has been jointly organized by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Shri Ayodhya Nyas, and Pragya Sansthan to honor the timeless cultural, spiritual, and historical significance of Ayodhya.

The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed dignitaries including Mahant Kamal Nayan Das of Maniramdas Chhawani, Geeta Manishi Mahamandaleshwar Gyananand Maharaj, Vasudev Kamath, IGNCA Chairman Ram Bahadur Rai, former MP Lallu Singh, and prominent heads of various religious and cultural organizations.

In his address, LG Manoj Sinha extended warm felicitations to all participants and organizers of the festival, hailing Ayodhya as “not merely a geographical location, but the spiritual heartbeat and cultural soul of India.”

“Ayodhya is the cradle of spirituality, good governance, and rich cultural heritage. The birthplace of Prabhu Shri Ram is our collective identity, a symbol of unity, and one of the most sacred pilgrimages,” he said.

Describing Ayodhya as a “spiritual resonance and the life force of society,” Sinha emphasized its vital role in shaping not only Indian civilization but also its influence across Asia. He noted Ayodhya’s contribution as a beacon of India’s soft power in ancient times, shaping cultural and spiritual values in countries like Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia.

He further remarked, “Ayodhya has been like a cultural magnet — its influence spread through art, literature, music, and theatre. Its embers of spiritual and cultural brilliance will continue to illuminate the world for millennia.”

Sinha underlined the enduring relevance of Bhagwan Shri Ram’s ideals — righteousness, truth, justice, patience, compassion, leadership — as the guiding principles for a modern, developing India (Viksit Bharat) amid global uncertainties.

“Development is a collective responsibility. Our progress must be inclusive, ensuring opportunities for the weaker sections. Our unshakable faith in ancient traditions and spiritual legacy will provide society with renewed strength and resilience,” he said.

‘Ayodhya Parv-2025’ aims to be a melting pot of devotion, classical traditions, and meaningful discourse, bringing together saints, policymakers, cultural thinkers, scholars, and artists from all corners of the nation.

On the occasion, several noteworthy publications were released, including ‘Santon Mein Dhruv Tare’, ‘Chaurasi Kos Ki Ayodhya’, ‘An Eternal Hero: Ram’, ‘Warriors of Kurukshetra’, and ‘Bharat Bodh Patrika’, enriching the cultural and intellectual legacy of the nation.

PM Modi to Inaugurate Vande Bharat to Kashmir on April 19, Ride Across Iconic Chenab and Anji Bridges

Before the historic launch of the Vande Bharat train to Kashmir from the holy town of Katra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a symbolic journey across two of India’s greatest railway engineering marvels on April 19. The Prime Minister will travel from the Chenab Railway Bridge — the world’s highest railway bridge — to Katra by train, where he will inaugurate the much-awaited rail service to the Kashmir Valley.

Official sources confirmed that Modi will land at the Udhampur airport before proceeding to the Chenab Bridge, which stands 1,178 feet above the riverbed — 82 feet taller than the Eiffel Tower. After inspecting the bridge, the Prime Minister will travel by train from Chenab Bridge to Katra. En route, he will also inaugurate and inspect the Anji Khad Bridge — India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, another landmark achievement in railway infrastructure.

At Katra, the Prime Minister will flag off the inaugural Vande Bharat train to Baramulla. Simultaneously, he will virtually inaugurate the return train from Baramulla to Katra. The event will mark the beginning of direct rail connectivity to Kashmir, ending a wait of several decades.

In a touching gesture, the Railway Ministry has invited numerous workers — including retired personnel — who were part of the formidable Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, to be part of the inaugural ride. These individuals played key roles in constructing one of the most challenging railway projects in the country’s history.

After flagging off the train, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a public rally in Katra — his second in the town within seven months. A special half-hour cultural programme by school children will be held at Katra railway station, showcasing national unity with the message: “Kashmir to Kanyakumari, India is one.”

Currently, trains operate only between Sangaldan and Baramulla and from across the country to Katra. Initially, the Vande Bharat will operate between Katra and Baramulla, but once expansion works at Jammu Railway Station are complete, the train is expected to run from Jammu to the Valley by August.

Security has been a key concern, and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan recently visited Katra to review preparations. Multiple successful trials of the Vande Bharat have already been conducted on the route.

The 272-kilometer USBRL project has been completed in phases over the years, with the final 17-kilometer Reasi-Katra stretch completed recently. The project, estimated to have cost ₹41,000 crore, stands as a monumental step in integrating Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of the nation through modern rail connectivity.
