On the birth anniversary of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid heartfelt tribute to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra, the revered nationalist leader affectionately known as Sher-e-Duggar. The ceremony, marked by reverence and emotion, celebrated the life and legacy of a visionary who devoted himself to the unity and integrity of the nation.
Led by BJP National General Secretary and Prabhari for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Tarun Chugh, senior party leaders gathered at the party office in Srinagar to honor the legendary figure. Sat Sharma, J&K BJP President; Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization); Dr. Shehnaz Ganai; and Anwar Khan were among those who joined in offering floral tributes and recalling Pt. Dogra’s immense contributions to public life.
Addressing the gathering, Tarun Chugh described Pt. Dogra as “an institution of national integration and selfless service.” He said Pt. Dogra’s lifelong struggle for “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” became the moral compass of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and continues to inspire the BJP today. Chugh emphasized that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership fulfilled Pt. Dogra’s vision of complete national integration — the greatest tribute to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and his steadfast dedication to unity.https://himalayanexpress.in/
Sat Sharma, in his remarks, called Pandit Dogra a “visionary leader” who spearheaded the Praja Parishad movement and dedicated his entire life to ensuring Jammu and Kashmir’s full integration with India. He noted that Pandit Ji’s long-cherished dream was realized under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.
Ashok Koul reflected on Dogra’s unwavering moral values and his determination during the Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan movement, which ultimately led to the abolition of the separate Prime Minister’s post in J&K.
In Jammu, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with J&K BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria, also performed a Hawan and paid floral tributes at Dogra Chowk. Jugal Kishore described Pt. Dogra as one of the greatest nationalist leaders of his time, whose leadership of the Praja Parishad Movement paved the way for J&K’s full unification with India.https://himalayanexpress.in/
