BJP leaders pay tribute to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra

On the birth anniversary of the revered nationalist leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, known fondly as Sher-e-Duggar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid rich tributes across Jammu and Kashmir today. Events unfolded in various parts of the region, celebrating Dogra’s contributions to national integration and his unmatched dedication to the cause.

In the capital city of Srinagar, the commemoration began under the leadership of BJP National General Secretary, Tarun Chugh, accompanied by esteemed party members. They gathered to garland Pt. Dogra’s portrait at the party office, honoring his legacy.

Attending the ceremony were prominent leaders including Sat Sharma, the J&K BJP President; Ashok Koul, the General Secretary (Organization); along with Dr. Shehnaz Ganai and Anwar Khan, all of whom offered floral tributes to the influential leader.

Tarun Chugh remarked, “Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was an institution of national integration and selfless service.” He highlighted that Dogra’s unwavering fight for ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ became a moral compass for the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and still inspires the BJP today.

Moreover, Chugh noted that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by the Narendra Modi Government serves as the fulfillment of Pt. Dogra’s lifelong aspiration, emphasizing that this act stands as “the ultimate tribute to his steadfast commitment to national unity.”

Sat Sharma further acknowledged Dogra as a visionary who championed the Praja Parishad Movement and devoted his life towards the seamless integration of Jammu & Kashmir with India. He stated, “Pandit Ji’s long-cherished dream has been realized under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Also reflecting on Dogra’s contributions, Ashok Koul praised Dogra’s moral integrity. He remarked that Dogra led the “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” movement with a steadfast determination, resulting in the abolishment of Jammu and Kashmir’s separate Prime Minister post.

Meanwhile, in Jammu, BJP leaders including Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, J&K BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria, along with other senior functionaries conducted a Hawan and paid floral tributes at Dogra Chowk.

Jugal Kishore Sharma, addressing the gathering, described Pt. Dogra as “a towering statesman and patriot who led the historic Praja Parishad Movement advocating full integration of J&K with India.”

Furthermore, Sanjita Dogra urged party workers to follow in Pandit Ji’s selfless spirit, while Baldev Singh Billawaria highlighted that Dogra’s ideology laid a robust foundation for the unification of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union.
