Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will chair a crucial Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhavan in Jammu today. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 am, where key security and intelligence officials will convene to address vital issues concerning the region.
The UHQ operates as the high command for security and intelligence matters in Jammu and Kashmir. Today’s discussions will focus on enhancing winter preparedness amid rising tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) due to recent escalations from Pakistan.
According to sources, LG Sinha will receive comprehensive briefings from senior officials on the current security landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. They will cover various aspects, including the existing situation at the LoC and international borders.
This meeting will feature prominent military and local leadership, including Army’s Northern Commander, Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, along with heads of paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies. Their collective insights will be critical for shaping the operational strategies of security forces in the region.
Notably, this is not Sinha’s first UHQ meeting this year. Previously, he chaired a meeting in May following the successful ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which aimed at enhancing security measures in J&K. During that meeting, he emphasized the need for “precise, intelligence-led operations” to neutralize terrorists and dismantle their supporting networks.
As the winter season approaches, addressing the preparedness of security operations becomes imperative. Logistical support, including operational strategy to ensure public safety and secure borders, remains a primary concern, especially given the recent uptick in cross-border infiltration attempts.
The UHQ meeting aligns with the ongoing efforts by the Union Territory administration to fortify security arrangements and maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir. As the government tackles the challenges posed by external threats, the input from high-ranking officials becomes crucial to adapt and strategize effectively.
With a focus on enhancing coordination between different agencies, this meeting aims to reassure residents about their safety and stability in the region. Lieutenant Governor Sinha continues to prioritize a proactive approach to security, considering both immediate and longer-term implications.
