Minister Satish Sharma visited the Science & Technology Department’s ‘Tawanai Ghar’ in Bemina, Jammu and Kashmir, today to discuss plans for innovative solar energy solutions. This initiative aims to further the government’s commitment to renewable energy development.
What are the New Solar Plans for J&K?
Sharma’s visit emphasized the need to explore practical solar energy solutions throughout Jammu and Kashmir. The idea aligns with the Chief Minister’s ‘Mission Solar Energy’, pushing for a self-reliant renewable energy sector.
“The Government is dedicated to transforming Jammu & Kashmir into a model for adopting renewable energy technologies,” said Sharma. “Solar energy is abundant here, and we must harness it scientifically and effectively.”
Implementation Strategies for Solar Energy
During the visit, Minister Sharma instructed officials to prepare detailed proposals focusing on:
- Expansion of solar installations in government and public buildings.
- Promoting household-level adoption of solar energy through incentives.
- Collaboration with research institutions and private sector for cost-effective innovations.
- Ensuring timely completion of ongoing renewable energy projects.
These strategies aim to surpass previous efforts and create a sustainable future for Jammu and Kashmir.
Employee Welfare and Renewable Energy Efficiency
As part of his visit, Sharma also addressed employee grievances within the department. He reiterated the importance of employee satisfaction and productivity.
“Employee welfare is closely linked to operational efficiency,” he stated. Sharma assured that genuine employee demands would be addressed promptly and that senior officers should foster a supportive environment.
Protecting J&K’s Fragile Ecology
Sharma highlighted the ecological benefits of adopting solar energy as a vital move for Jammu & Kashmir. Emphasizing renewable sources not only reduces reliance on conventional power but also protects the region’s delicate ecosystem.
The future vision is clear: establish Jammu & Kashmir as a clean energy hub through actionable solar projects and robust governmental support.
“I urge our officials to work with enthusiasm and responsibility to actualize our Chief Minister’s vision,” Sharma concluded.
P.R. Dhar, CEO of JAKEDA, along with other senior officials from the Science and Technology Department, attended the discussions.
