MAHARAJGANJ (UP), May 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a dig at the Samajwadi Party and Congress during a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Pankaj Chaudhary, alleging that they are blaming electronic voting machines (EVMs) for their anticipated defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Shah asserted that the BJP has surpassed the majority mark in the first five rounds of polling, confidently predicting the party’s victory. He ridiculed the opposition’s anticipated response, suggesting that they will attribute their loss to faulty EVMs during a press conference on June 4.
In a scathing remark directed at Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders, Shah stated that they lack a prime ministerial candidate and are inconsistent in their leadership, proposing the possibility of having five different prime ministers in five years.
Continuing his attack, Shah emphasized the BJP’s unwavering stance on national security, asserting that Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India and vowing to reclaim it. He also highlighted the BJP government’s efforts in addressing financial irregularities such as the Sahara scam.
Seeking to connect with farmers, Shah commemorated the death anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for honoring him with the Bharat Ratna. He promised the construction of a new mega sugar mill in Maharajganj if the BJP retains power.
Polling in Maharajganj is scheduled for June 1, marking a crucial phase in the ongoing electoral process.
