As summer settles in, the meteorological department anticipates mainly dry and scorching weather across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days. While no significant weather disturbances are projected until May 28, a “heat wave” is forecasted to affect the plains of the Jammu Division.
Nighttime temperatures have been on the rise, with Srinagar registering a low of 14.2°C, marking an increase from the previous night. Similarly, other regions such as Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Kupwara, and Gulmarg have experienced above-normal minimum temperatures, contributing to warmer nights across the region.
In Jammu, the mercury dipped to 27.1°C, indicating a notable increase from the previous night’s low. Other areas such as Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah also recorded elevated temperatures compared to the norm.
