RAIPUR, Apr 22: Speaking at an election rally in Kanker town, Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Monday that the Narendra Modi-led government has successfully eradicated terrorism across the nation and that Naxalism is on the brink of extinction. Shah urged Naxalites to surrender, warning them of imminent elimination from the state within two years.
Challenging Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah questioned the actions taken by his family’s four generations during their reign, particularly highlighting their efforts for the impoverished population of Chhattisgarh. He emphasized BJP’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the poor, tribal communities, Dalits, and backward classes over any particular minority group.
Shah criticized Congress for allegedly neglecting the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram’s idol at the Ayodhya temple, insinuating a focus on vote bank politics over religious sentiments.
Hailing PM Modi’s leadership, Shah credited him with a decade-long track record and a vision for the next 25 years. He accused the previous Congress government, led by Bhupesh Baghel, of inaction against Naxalites, referencing the Mahadev betting app scandal.
Under the BJP government in Chhattisgarh, Shah claimed significant progress in combating Naxalism, citing the neutralization of 90 Naxalites, along with numerous arrests and surrenders in the past four months. He pledged to completely eradicate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh within two years if Modi is elected for a third term.
Shah urged voters to support BJP’s candidate for the Kanker Lok Sabha seat, Bhojraj Nag, with polling scheduled for April 26.
