Patna, April 4 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the NDA’s Lok Sabha election campaign in Bihar on Thursday with a rally, marking his first appearance in the state since the commencement of the elections.
Scheduled to address the rally in Jamui around noon, Modi, vying for a third consecutive term in office, emphasized the significance of Bihar’s role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “Bihar’s role in the Lok Sabha elections is going to be very important this time, too. My family members here have pledged to ensure victory of BJP-NDA candidates in all the Lok Sabha seats in the state,” he stated in a post on X.
As anticipation builds for the event, the Bihar Police have implemented a comprehensive security arrangement at the venue and its surroundings in preparation for the Prime Minister’s rally.
Expressing gratitude for the Prime Minister’s decision to commence the campaign from Jamui, BJP ally Chirag Paswan hailed the move as a matter of pride for the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the people of Jamui. “We are committed to helping him achieve the target of 400-plus seats for the NDA, including all the 40 in Bihar,” Paswan affirmed.
Jamui is among the four Lok Sabha seats in Bihar set to go to polls in the first phase on April 19, along with Aurangabad, Gaya, and Nawada. While the BJP is contesting in Aurangabad and Nawada, the NDA in Bihar comprises Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Chirag Paswan’s party is fielding candidates in five seats, including Hajipur, his late father Ram Vilas Paswan’s stronghold, where he is seeking electoral success this time around.
