Srinagar, Jan 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the significant transformation in Jammu & Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 and urged the youth to actively participate in mainstream India. Speaking at the virtual inauguration of e-buses in Jammu, Shah highlighted the positive changes in the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shah noted the shift from a turbulent past marked by violence, stone pelting, and strikes to a scenario where development initiatives, schools, and medical colleges have replaced such adversities. He praised the positive impact of Article 370 abrogation, citing improvements in law and order, cessation of stone-pelting, and a general sense of peace prevailing in the region.
Commending PM Modi’s efforts, Shah mentioned the effective measures taken to curb terrorism financing and the ban on ideological groups supporting terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. He envisioned a future for the region marked by peace, prosperity, and development.
Amit Shah encouraged the youth to enroll themselves in the voter list, urging them to become integral parts of mainstream India. During the ceremony, Shah congratulated individuals receiving appointment letters, advising them to approach their new roles with commitment and determination.
Taking a swipe at local political leaders, Shah highlighted the eradication of corruption in job appointments, emphasizing merit over favoritism. He acknowledged the initiatives of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in addressing unemployment concerns and applauded the filling of thousands of posts in various sectors after the abrogation of Article 370.
Shah lauded the introduction of e-bus services in Jammu, describing it as a significant step towards eco-friendly transportation. He emphasized the convenience, affordability, and durability of the e-bus service, which aligns with the government’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious measures.
The Home Minister concluded by praising the Jammu & Kashmir government’s efforts to digitize services, ensuring over 1100 online services to root out corruption practices in government departments.
