Chahattisgarh, 13 Dec : The swearing-in ceremony for the new Chhattisgarh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is scheduled for Wednesday, with a historic turnout expected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states are set to attend this significant event. Concurrently, Madhya Pradesh’s new Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, will take the oath at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground on the same day.
The oath-taking ceremony in Madhya Pradesh is slated for 11:30 am, while in Chhattisgarh, preparations at the Science College ground in Raipur are underway for the 2 pm event. Anticipating an attendance of over 50,000 people, the ceremonies promise to be momentous. Following his designation as the chief minister-designate, Yadav promptly met with Governor Mangubhai Patel to assert his claim to form the next government.
Madhya Pradesh’s BJP state chief, Vishnu Dutt Sharma, announced that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia are also expected to grace the occasion. Although BJP’s central leadership has named Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda as deputy chief ministers, their participation in the oath-taking ceremony alongside Yadav remains uncertain.
Narendra Singh Tomar, a senior BJP leader and newly-elected MLA, who was in the running for the CM’s post, is slated to become the new assembly speaker. Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, state chief Arun Sao emphasized the historical significance of the swearing-in event, with luminaries such as PM Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah expected to attend. The BJP unit extended invitations to political parties, including the opposition (Congress), and the event is anticipated to draw significant participation from BJP workers and the general public.
Yet, the state unit has not disclosed details of the cabinet, including the deputy chief ministers. Speculation suggests the possibility of having two deputy CMs, each representing the OBC and general categories. Reports indicate that the new council of ministers may feature a blend of fresh faces and experienced politicians, with the recent influx of new BJP members triggering conjectures about the prospects of longtime members securing cabinet positions.
