New Delhi, Nov 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on Thursday, where he inquired about their experiences and the impact of various central government schemes on their lives.
During the event, PM Modi inaugurated a program aimed at increasing the number of Jan Aushadi Kendras from 10,000 to 25,000 across the country. He urged volunteers running Jan Aushadi Kendras in villages to ensure that people receive the full benefits of government schemes, emphasizing the importance of making healthcare affordable and easily accessible.
The establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendra, offering medicines at affordable prices, aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision for a healthier India. Additionally, PM Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Kendra, empowering women through technology. Drones will be provided to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) for livelihood assistance, with necessary training offered to operate these devices. This initiative aims to encourage the use of technology in agriculture.
Speaking to a beneficiary about the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Kendra, PM Modi noted the positive impact of the drone scheme, especially in empowering women through various welfare programs. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, initiated by the Prime Minister on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand, has been instrumental in providing on-spot services, including health camps organized at the van halting places in Gram Panchayats.
As of November 26, 2023, 5,470 health camps have been conducted in 995 Gram Panchayats, with a total footfall exceeding 7,82,000 people, according to a government release. The health camps involve the screening of patients for TB symptoms, sputum testing, and the use of NAAT machines where available. Under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMA), consent is obtained for TB patients to receive assistance from Nikshay Mitras.
Both initiatives, providing drones to women SHGs and increasing the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, were announced by the Prime Minister during his Independence Day speech earlier this year.
