Priyanka Gandhi Offers Prayers for Laborers Trapped in Tunnel in Uttarakhand

New Delhi, Nov 23 – Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a leader of the Congress party, extended her wishes for the safety of 41 laborers currently trapped in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel. She urged the government to ensure proper compensation and assistance for the affected individuals.

Rescue operations, aimed at evacuating the trapped workers, faced an overnight delay in drilling, but efforts resumed on Thursday morning. Priyanka Gandhi, in a Hindi post on X, shared that there is optimism that the ongoing rescue operation is progressing towards success, expressing hope for the swift and safe evacuation of all the laborers.

“We pray to God that all the laborer brothers come out as soon as possible and reach their homes in good health. The prayers of the entire country are with them,” she stated. Priyanka Gandhi also called upon the government to provide adequate compensation and assistance to the laborers who are putting their lives at risk in the service of the nation.

Bhaskar Khulbe, former advisor to the prime minister’s office, explained that the removal of an iron mesh obstructing the drilling machine had created an escape passage for the workers. However, this process resulted in a delay of 12 to 14 hours in the rescue operation.
