Uttarkashi, Nov 22: Overnight Resumption of American Auger Machine Drilling at Silkyara Tunnel Aims to Expedite Rescue for Trapped Workers
Drilling operations with the American auger machine have recommenced at Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel, as officials work to create an escape passage for the 41 workers stranded inside for over 10 days. Reports indicate that 800 diameter steel pipes have been successfully inserted up to 32 meters through the debris. The drilling process had faced a setback on Friday when the auger machine encountered a hard object, leading to a temporary suspension. The renewed drilling efforts are expected to accelerate the ongoing rescue mission.
