Azad criticised targeted killing of outside labourer in Pulwama

By Raja Rehber Jamal

Bhaderwah, Oct 30: Former Jammu and Kashmir Cheif Minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing Media at Bhaderwah expressed his resentment over the targeted killing of outside labourer in Pulwama by suspected militants.

Ghulam Nabi Azad is on tour of Bhaderwah, Doda and Ramban areas, where he is addressing his party workers.

He was accompanied by Former Minister Abdul Majeed Wani, Vice Chairman DPAP Ghulam Mohd Saroori, Sr Leader IG Manhas, Sr Leader Javed Azad, Block President Bhaderwah Arif Najar and others.

After chairing important meeting with office bearers of DPAP at Dak Banglow Bhaderwah, Azad while talking to Media said that it’s a cowardly act done by terrorists in Pulwama and it’s not less than an act against humanity.

He said that not only political leaders should condemned the incident but local Kashmiris should also come forward and raise the voice against these kind of brutal incidents as there is no space for such incidents in our society.

He also said that “Killing of non local labourer Mukesh Kumar in Kashmir’s Pulwama is highly condemnable. These poor migrant labourers are the backbone of J&K’s economy, who toil in every sphere of life in order to sustain their livelihood & targeting them is against humanity & principles of all religions. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Mukesh Kumar and urge authorities to ensure everyone in Kashmir feels safe.”

It is notable that a non-local labourer was allegedly shot dead by the suspected militants in South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Monday. The police identified the slain labourer as Mukesh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. The killing of a non-local worker is the first such murder in the valley this year.

Suspected militants fired at the labourer at Tumchi village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir, said the police. The labourer was critically injured in the attack and succumbed to injuries later, they added.

The attack has come a day after a police inspector was shot at and critically injured in Srinagar. Inspector Masroor Ahmad was fired at from point-blank range at Eidgah ground in Srinagar while he was playing cricket.
