Srinagar, September 26: Tejwant Singh Sawhney, prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Morcha, has strongly condemned Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for what he calls “anti-India propaganda.” In a recent statement, Sawhney emphasized that all Sikhs in India are true nationalists and do not support the demand for Khalistan, attributing such demands to a small group of individuals outside India.
Sawhney stated, “The Sikh community in India has consistently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the nation’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty. We have proudly given numerous lives for the cause of India and are prepared to make further sacrifices for its safety and security.”
Sawhney further expressed his concern regarding individuals and groups outside India who are advocating for Khalistan, alleging that they are “miscreants” seeking to sow discord and promote enmity. He criticized the Canadian government for providing shelter to such individuals and groups, asserting that it is crucial for the international community to recognize that these voices do not represent the sentiments of the vast majority of Sikhs residing in India.
“It is regrettable that the Canadian Prime Minister has lent support to those who seek to undermine the unity of India,” Sawhney added. “The Sikh community in India remains steadfast in its allegiance to the Indian nation, and we denounce any attempts to disrupt our harmonious coexistence.”
Sawhney’s remarks come in the wake of growing concerns within the Indian diaspora and the Indian government about the external promotion of Khalistan. He called upon the international community to differentiate between the aspirations of a few individuals and the collective allegiance of millions of Sikhs to India.
Tejwant Singh Sawhney’s words echo the sentiment of millions of Sikhs in India, who continue to contribute to the nation’s progress and development while upholding their proud Indian identity.
