J&k, June 26 : The Jammu-Srinagar national highway came to a standstill on Sunday as landslides caused by heavy rainfall in Mehad and Cafeteria Morh of Ramban district blocked the road for vehicular traffic. Visuals depict a long queue of vehicles stranded on the highway due to the obstruction. In response to the situation, the District administration of Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir took the precautionary measure of closing all schools up to class 10 for the day. However, teachers were instructed to report for duty. The closure was implemented considering the heavy rains and the possibility of flash floods, as informed by Deputy Commissioner Mussarat Islam.
