BISHNAH 10 May 2023 :- One day awareness programme on ‘Financial Literacy, Government Sponsored Schemes and Mass Bank Account Opening’ was held at Sunrise Higher Secondary School, Sikanderpur, Bishnah District Jammu. The programme was organised by Nations Development Association (NDA) in collaboration with Central Bank of India Branch Bishnah. The programme was participated by more than 100 Students Parents and they opened bank account at Central Bank of India (CBI). In his welcome speech, Principal of Sunrise Higher Secondary School, Sikanderpur, Bishnah Dr G.S Charak that despite of heavy daily schedule, the bank of ficials are willing to spend time to gether with Sunrise High Secondary School, Sikanderpur, Bishnah Students and Parents.
Rupali Gupta Branch Manager of CBI, Branch Bishnah, Jameel Aham Assistant Manager CBI and Sushil Singh Charak Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA) spoke as resource persons in the programme. The programme is organised to make the Students and Students Parents aware on how to open bank account, how to apply start up loans, Government Sponsored Socially Oriented Insurance Schemes
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana(PMJJBY),Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana(PMSBY),Life Cover under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY),Varishtha Pension Bima Yojana,Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana(PMFBY),Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana(PMVVY),Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) and know about its benefits, he added.
Rupali Gupta CBI Bank Branch Manager said that Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a flagship scheme of Government of India. The scheme facilitates micro credit/Loan up to Rs. 10 lakh to income generating micro enterprises engaged in the non farm sector in manufacturing, processing, trading or service sector. MUDRA supports Financial Intermediaries to extend loans to the non-corporate, non-farm sector income generating activities of micro and small entities. Gupta also said these Micro and small entities comprises of millions of proprietorship / partnership firms running as small manufacturing units, service sector units, shopkeepers, fruits / vegetable vendors, truck operators, food-service units, repair shops, machine operators, small industries, artisans, food processors and others, in rural and urban.
Sushil Singh Charak Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA) said that Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana(PMSBY)the scheme is available to people in the age group of 18 to 70 years with a bank account who give their consent to join / enable auto-debit on or before 31st May for the coverage period 1st June to 31st May on an annual renewal basis. Aadhar would be the primary KYC for the bank account. The risk coverage under the scheme is 2 lakh for accidental death and full disability and 1 lakh for partial disability. The premium of Rs. 20 per annum is to be deducted from the account holder’s bank account through ‘auto-debit’ facility in one installment.
Sushil Singh Charak also said the scheme is being offered by Public Sector General Insurance Companies or any other General Insurance Company who are willing to offer the product on similar terms with necessary approvals and tie up with banks for this purpose.He also appreciated the role of Principal of Sunrise Higher Secondary School, Sikanderpur, Bishnah District Jammu Principal Dr G.S Charak and his team members for providing logistic and for making local arrangements.
