Demands regularization of daily wagers, all other contract based workers in J&K
JAMMU, MAY 01, 2023:- Apni Party Trade Union, J&K President, Ajaz Kazmi has demanded regularization of all the daily wagers and release of pending wages.
In a statement to the press, Kazmi said that May Day reminds the struggle of the labour class who fought for their rights 134 years ago in the month of May in 1886 in Chicago.
He paid rich tributes to the martyrs labourers who were killed in Chicago. The Govt of Jammu and Kashmir should not delay in regularization of over 61000 daily wagers in different Govt departments, he added.
He said that these workers devoted their life for the public services but they were not paid every month and several months’ wages were still pending to be released by their respective department.
“It appears to be an insensitive approach of the Govt towards the labour class who worked relentlessly. The Govt must acknowledge their service and accordingly, they should be regularized and their pending wages be released,” he said.
He also demanded that the demands of Anganwari Workers, Rehar-e-Khel, Contractor Lecturers, Home Guards and others workers on contracts should also be regularized, and their wages should be released.
