Forest, Natural Essential Oils planted 2000 cedar saplings in Bhadarwah

Bhadarwah, Mar 29:- To increase forest cover and minimise soil erosion near water bodies, Forest department and Natural Essential Oils Bhadarwah in collaboration with Army and NCC unit of GDC Bhadarwah organised mega plantation drive in Basti-Gagla forest area of Bhadarwah.

Joining the initiative to increase the green cover of rapidly depleting forests, Natural Essential Oil and Forest Division Bhadarwah along with Army’s Rashtriya Rifles unit based at Bhadarwah and NCC started mega plantation drive to plant 2000 saplings of cedar.

The plantation drive, which was primarily aimed at to increase the green cover, was inaugurated by Conservator Forest (CF) Chenab Circle Jatinder Kumar Singh along with DFO Bhadarwah Chander Shekhar, Chairman Natural Essential Oils Touseef Bagban and Director Touqeer Bagban.

The ambitious drive was launched by CF Chenab Circle Jatinder Kumar Singh by planting cedar saplings at Basti-Gagla forest area, in which 2000 saplings of Cedar was planted. 

Conservator Forest Chenab Circle Jatinder Kumar Singh said that to promote and encourage plantation in the backdrop of decreasing forest cover and as a part of yearly activity, the plantation drive was started in Basti-Gagla area of Puneja Block in Additional District Bhadarwah and will be initiated in other areas in coming days as well.

Beside Staff of Forest, Natural Essential oils, Army, NCC, a large number of NCC cadets also participated in the plantation drive.

Speaking On the occasion, Conservator Forest (CF) Jatinder Kumar Singh while emphasizing on the importance of plantation said that we along with Natural Essential oils Bhadarwah, Army and NCC started plantation drive in Bhadarwah to contribute in increasing the green cover.

“Every body needs to be made aware of the challenges of future forest management,” CF Chenab Circle added.

Director Natural Essential Oils Bhadarwah Touqeer Bagban said that every year we conduct plantation drive in degraded areas to increase green cover as our responsibility towards environment.

He stressed upon all not only to plant trees but also adopt them with care for sake of nurture and our coming generation.
