“J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council Organizes Soft Activity on implementation of Biotechnology Park”

JKSTIC organized one day awareness programme at GDC Samba on “Implementation of Biotech Park” at the Conference Hall. The objective of the programme was to educate the students, researchers and entrepreneurs about the opportunities and advancements in the Biotechnology Sector Prof. Twinkle Suri Principal GDC Samba inaugurated the event being the Chief Guest. She lauded the efforts of IIC in organizing such and informative and meaningful workshops. Mrs. Shruti Khanna District Coordinator J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council highlighted about the Biotechnology Park. She also gave a detailed over view about how the upcoming Biotechnology park at Kathua will provide a platform to up skill the students as there is an imperative need to encourage a start up culture in the educational institutions so that the young learners are empowered with sufficient employment skills.


Prof. Rahul Sharma from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in his extensive presentation reiterated that Biotechnology parks serve as innovation hubs where research development and commercialization of Biotechnology innovations take
place. Dr. Shelly Sehgal from Central University of Jammu enlightened the audience an eye opening benefits of Biotechnology Park Ghati Kathua for the young minds. Dr. Sanjay Khajuria Chief Scientist SKUAST Jammu was the Guest of Honour during the event. He enlisted the various initiatives taken by his Department in preservation of natural crops and fruits in the Samba Unit. He demonstrated the latest drone technology used to nourish and nurture the Agricultural land. The programme was also attended by faculty and students from GDC Kathua Dr. Ranjodh Singh President IIC presented formal vote of thanks.
