New Delhi, July 22: Shatrughan Sinha Takes Oath as Lok Sabha Member
Shatrughan Sinha, representing the Trinamool Congress (TMC), was sworn in as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha today, marking the completion of oath-taking for all winning candidates from the 2024 general elections.
As the session commenced, the actor-turned-politician’s name was called by the secretary general. Sinha, who emerged victorious from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal, took his oath in Hindi, pledging in the name of God.
During the initial session in June, Sinha was unable to take the oath due to procedural reasons.
The Lok Sabha’s total strength stands at 543 seats, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi having vacated the Wayanad seat in Kerala while retaining Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. With all 542 members having taken their oaths, only one vacancy remains in the House.
