Indian Cricketers Shine in Latest ICC T20I Rankings

DUBAI, July 18: In the latest ICC T20I rankings released today, Suryakumar Yadav leads the charge for India, securing the second spot, while young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed to sixth position. Ruturaj Gaikwad, despite a slight drop, maintains a strong presence in eighth place following India’s recent 4-1 series victory over Zimbabwe.

Jaiswal’s standout performance, accumulating 141 runs in the series, propelled him four places up the rankings, just behind Australia’s Travis Head and top-ranked Suryakumar Yadav.

Shubman Gill, who captained India in the absence of senior players and emerged as the leading run-scorer with 170 runs from five innings, made a remarkable jump of 36 places to 37th position.

However, no Indian cricketer features in the top 10 of the T20I bowlers’ rankings. Axar Patel, who was rested during the Zimbabwe series, slipped to the 13th position. On the other hand, fast bowler Mukesh Kumar and spinner Washington Sundar made significant strides upward. Mukesh Kumar, with eight wickets from three games, climbed 36 places to 46th rank, while Washington Sundar, with eight wickets in five matches, rose 21 spots to 73rd rank.

England’s Adil Rashid leads the T20I bowlers’ chart, followed by South Africa’s Anrich Nortje and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga.

In the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, India’s Hardik Pandya dropped to sixth place, and Axar Patel slipped to 13th. Washington Sundar climbed to 41st position, while Shivam Dube rose to 43rd, marking improvements of eight and 35 places, respectively.

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga continues to dominate the all-rounders’ list, ahead of Australia’s Marcus Stoinis and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza.

The rankings reflect the dynamic performances and rising stature of Indian cricketers in the international T20 arena.
