Hathras (UP), July 5: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited Hathras on Friday to meet the families of those who lost their lives in the recent stampede. Gandhi, accompanied by state Congress chief Ajay Rai, state Congress in-charge Avinash Pande, party spokesperson Supriya Shrinate, and other officials, departed from Delhi early in the morning.
Gandhi first stopped in Aligarh, where he interacted with the families of the victims. He then proceeded to Hathras to meet the kin of the stampede victims. The senior Congress leader arrived in Pilakhna village in Aligarh around 7:15 am.
The tragic stampede at self-styled godman Baba Bhole’s satsang in Hathras on Tuesday claimed the lives of 121 people, mostly women.
