Ramban, July 05: Not only protecting our nation from anti-national elements but our Indian Army is also engaged in shaping the future of poor masses as well to raise their lifestyle.
Continuing it’s efforts to strengthen the status of women in rural areas by empowering them with skills to become self-reliant, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles based at Banihal has sponsored ‘Stitching and Tailoring Course’ for the women from remote areas of Banihal in District Ramban.

The project is aligned with the government’s “Skill India” and “Digital India” initiatives.
A total of 12 women were selected for this three months program considering their economic condition and zeal to learn.
The course is being conducted at ACSA Centre Banihal, which is a government approved vocational training center as per standards of National Skill Development Corporation located in Banihal Market.
According to Army Spokesperson, it has a comprehensive course that will educate women about basic fundamentals of the needlework crafts to fashion designing of clothes required in daily routine. The women undertaking this course will gain in-depth knowledge of designing, stitching and other related skills by the end of course.
After completion of the course, each candidate will receive a certificate of “Stitching and Tailoring Course” experts.
The event was attended by Govt officials, opinion makers, trainees and family members of sponsored students.
The community at large, including trainees, families, praised this effort of Army for aiding needy women and providing them the tools to alleviate poverty and become economically independent in this competitive era.
