In a significant development, the Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has apprehended the husband of an Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) in connection with the 2021 sub-inspector recruitment paper leak case. Tulsaram Kaler (57), a former sub-inspector of police whose service was terminated in 1993, was arrested from the Jaisinghpura area in Jaipur on Sunday.
ADG (ATS & SOG) V K Singh confirmed that Kaler, alleged to be a key figure in facilitating unfair means in various recruitment exams, including the sub-inspector recruitment test, is currently under interrogation. Officials assert that Kaler has been actively involved in paper leaks and facilitating cheating in competitive exams through Bluetooth-enabled devices since his dismissal from service.
Kaler’s troubled history within the police force dates back to 1991 when he was selected as a police sub-inspector but subsequently arrested and terminated from service in 1993 for his involvement in looting hawala money while stationed in Deedwana, Nagaur.
Despite his dismissal, Kaler resurfaced in 1995 by establishing a coaching institute named Chanakya in Jodhpur, later relocating to Bikaner in 2006 following his marriage to Namita Khokhar, a grade-III teacher. Currently, Khokhar serves as an Additional SP at the Rajasthan Police Headquarters.
The arrest of Kaler underscores the rigorous efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat corruption and malpractice within the recruitment process. As investigations unfold, authorities remain steadfast in their commitment to upholding the integrity of competitive examinations and ensuring transparency in recruitment procedures.
