Kashmir’s Amir Ahmad Bhat to Make History as First Paralympian; Chief Secretary Extends Best Wishes

Srinagar, June 5: In a heartening development, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo met with Amir Ahmad Bhat, who is set to make history as the first athlete from Kashmir to compete in the Pistol Shooting competition at the Paralympics, scheduled to be held in Paris at the end of August.

Chief Secretary Dulloo commended Amir for his exceptional talent and unwavering dedication, extending his best wishes for success in the upcoming competition. He expressed hope that Amir would shine brightly in the tournament, bringing pride and glory to Jammu and Kashmir.

In another significant encounter, elite football players from Jammu and Kashmir had the opportunity to meet Chief Secretary Dulloo. They shared insights into their remarkable achievements in various prestigious leagues such as the Indian Super League, I-League, and Indian National Teams throughout the season. The delegation of footballers included Ishfaq Ahmad, Mehraj Ud Din Wadoo, Danish Farooq, Muhammad Hamad, Muheet Shabir, Sajjad Parray, Suhail Ahmad, and Majid Yousuf.

Chief Secretary Dulloo applauded the footballers for their outstanding accomplishments and assured them of continued government support in their future endeavors within the sports arena. He reiterated the government’s commitment to nurturing talent and facilitating opportunities for athletes to excel in both national and international competitions.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, and Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull, underscoring the government’s dedication to promoting sports and fostering a culture of excellence in the region.
