New Delhi, Jun 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to voters for entrusting the BJP-led NDA with a historic third consecutive term. In his address at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, following the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results on Saturday, PM Modi emphasized the urgency of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) through decisive action.

“We don’t have time to halt. This is the moment to advance together for the nation’s betterment. We must consistently make significant decisions for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the future of our country,” PM Modi declared. He highlighted that this unprecedented victory marks the first time in six decades that an alliance, the NDA, has been re-elected for a third term.

The Prime Minister assured that eradicating poverty and eliminating corruption are guarantees of his administration. Despite the formidable challenge posed by the opposition’s INDIA bloc, PM Modi asserted that the NDA’s victory is unmatched due to the overwhelming support from the electorate.

“A united opposition could not secure as many seats as the BJP did on its own. The people of this country have placed their faith in the BJP and the NDA. This victory is a triumph for the world’s largest democracy,” he said.

PM Modi also noted the BJP’s significant successes across various states. “BJP is forming the government in Odisha for the first time with a BJP Chief Minister in the land of Lord Jagannath,” he announced. He further highlighted the party’s impressive performance in Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha.

“In Kerala, the BJP has won a seat, a testament to the dedication and sacrifices of our workers over generations,” he said. “In Telangana, our strength has doubled. In Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and several other states, our party has nearly made a clean sweep.”

In Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, PM Modi credited the exceptional performance to the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, respectively. He assured the public that their development will remain a top priority for the government.

The Prime Minister also praised the voters in Jammu and Kashmir for their “unprecedented enthusiasm,” highlighting their rejection of those attempting to defame the nation.

Reflecting on the past decade, PM Modi remarked on the transformative journey since 2014. “Ten years ago, the country voted for change amidst a climate of scandals and uncertainty. We worked with full integrity, and in 2019, the people reaffirmed their trust in us. Now, with your blessings for a third term, we will work together to propel the nation forward and make bold decisions that will write a new chapter in India’s history,” he promised.

PM Modi also shared a personal note, mentioning the emotional weight of this election being the first since his mother’s passing. “I felt the support and love from mothers and sisters across the country, which prevented me from feeling alone,” he said.

He concluded by thanking the Election Commission of India for successfully conducting the world’s largest electoral exercise amid challenging conditions.
