New Delhi : Following the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to convene its first meeting in Delhi to deliberate on the allocation of ministerial roles and quotas within the Modi government.
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar is slated to participate in the meeting, alongside Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President Chirag Paswan and Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) National President Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had discussions with Nitish on Tuesday, notifying him of the meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Nitish’s pivotal role in the country’s political landscape is once again underscored, as he returned to Patna from Delhi after a meeting with PM Modi on Monday.
In Bihar, out of 40 Lok Sabha seats, the NDA secured 30 seats, while the INDIA bloc clinched nine seats. Independent candidate Pappu Yadav won the remaining one in the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency.

In the previous elections, Congress had won only one seat (Kishanganj), with RJD and CPI (ML) failing to secure any seats.
Noteworthy winners in Bihar include Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Chirag Paswan, Lalan Singh, Misa Bharti, Radha Mohan Singh, and Tariq Anwar. However, prominent leaders such as RK Singh, Upendra Kushwaha, Rohini Acharya, Raj Kripal Yadav, and Pawan Singh faced defeat.
