IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat; All 172 Passengers Safe

Mumbai, June 1: An IndiGo flight traveling from Chennai to Mumbai, carrying 172 passengers, landed under “full emergency” conditions on Saturday following a bomb threat, according to sources. The flight touched down around 8:45 am, and passengers disembarked using a step ladder, as per reports.

This marks the second bomb threat incident involving an IndiGo flight within a week. On May 28, a flight from Delhi to Varanasi operated by IndiGo also received a similar threat.

The “full emergency” status was declared for IndiGo flight 6E5314, which was flying the Chennai-Mumbai route, after the pilot alerted Mumbai Air Traffic Control (ATC) about the alleged threat, the source revealed.

IndiGo confirmed the bomb threat in a statement, stating, “Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines.” All passengers safely disembarked, and the aircraft is currently undergoing inspection, the statement added.

“After completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area,” the statement concluded.
