External Affairs Minister Jaishankar Praises PM Modi’s Foreign Policy Achievements

During an event in Shimla, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that under his guidance, India’s foreign policy has garnered global acclaim, positioning the nation as a key player on the international stage.

Jaishankar emphasized that India, under PM Modi’s leadership, is poised to assume the role of Vishvaguru (teacher of the world) in the near future, owing to its growing influence and stature in global affairs.

Addressing the challenges faced on the India-China border, Jaishankar highlighted the government’s efforts to strengthen border infrastructure, particularly in Himachal Pradesh, with a significant increase in the budget for infrastructural development along the China border.

He also spoke about India’s strategic decisions amidst geopolitical tensions, including maintaining trade relations during the Ukraine-Russia conflict and navigating pressure from China while joining the Quad group.

Asserting the importance of stable governance, Jaishankar urged voters to elect a government capable of addressing challenges such as terrorism and promoting India’s interests on the global stage.

Reflecting on India’s progress over the past decade, Jaishankar noted significant advancements in infrastructure development, economic growth, and international recognition.

In an informal interaction with journalists, Jaishankar elaborated on India’s citizen-centric foreign policy and its growing support base in international forums like the UN.

As India continues its Lok Sabha elections across seven phases, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4, Jaishankar underscored the significance of strong leadership and development-oriented governance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, contesting for a third term from Varanasi, seeks to build upon the achievements of his previous tenures, aiming to lead India towards a prosperous future.
