CRICKET VETERAN RAMAN THAPLOO RETIRES FROM ALL FORMS OF CRICKET

After a illustrious 24-year career in cricket, Raman Thaploo, a prominent figure in Jammu and Kashmir cricket, has announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Thaploo, who began his cricket journey at the MA Stadium in 2000, has represented Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) in various age group tournaments and senior level competitions.

In a letter addressed to Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA, Thaploo expressed gratitude for the opportunities and support he received throughout his cricketing career. He reminisced about his journey, highlighting memorable moments such as representing J&K Senior Men’s Ranji Trophy team during the 2019-20 season.

Thaploo expressed pride in representing Jammu and Kashmir in prestigious tournaments like the Vijay Merchant Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy, CK Nayudu Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Ranji Trophy across different age groups. He credited his family, BCCI, JKCA, and his club, Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC), for their unwavering support and encouragement.

Acknowledging the valuable lessons learned from every match and practice session, Thaploo pledged to remain associated with the game and nurture young talent in the country. He expressed his commitment to giving back to the sport that has given him so much, promising to contribute in every possible way to the development of cricket.

Thaploo’s retirement marks the end of an era in Jammu and Kashmir cricket, but his legacy and contributions to the sport will continue to inspire aspiring cricketers for generations to come.
