Congress’ Priyanka Gandhi Casts Vote in Delhi, Emphasizes Unemployment and Inflation as Key Election Issues

New Delhi, May 25: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi exercised her democratic right by casting her vote in the sixth phase of the general elections at a polling station in Delhi today.

Following her ballot, Priyanka Vadra highlighted unemployment and inflation as pivotal issues, asserting the electorate’s desire for these concerns to dominate the electoral discourse.

Addressing questions regarding the voting choices of her brother Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Priyanka emphasized the collective commitment to democratic principles, stating, “We are setting aside our grievances and casting votes for our Constitution and democracy. ‘Mujhe iss baat par garv hai’ (I am proud of this).”

Earlier, Congress stalwarts Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also participated in the electoral process in Delhi, capturing a selfie outside the polling station post-voting.

The political landscape in Delhi is marked by a riveting contest, with the AAP and Congress forming an alliance to challenge the BJP, which clinched all seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital in the previous two elections. Congress is contesting on three seats, while AAP is contesting on four, with both parties aligning under the INDIA bloc.

Confidence resonates within the Congress camp regarding the prospects of the INDIA alliance. Congress RS MP Jairam Ramesh expressed optimism, projecting a decisive mandate in favor of the alliance on June 4th, indicating a farewell to Prime Minister Modi. Ramesh asserted, “I have full confidence that our alliance will win all seven seats in Delhi.”

The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls encompasses a wide electoral spectrum, including seats from Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. A total of 889 candidates are in contention, with voting currently underway in all parliamentary constituencies of Delhi and Haryana.

As the democratic exercise unfolds, stakeholders await the verdict of the electorate, poised to shape the political trajectory of the nation
