Key Constituencies and Candidates in Phase 5:
Raebareli: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Raebareli, facing BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh. Gandhi also contested from Wayanad this election. Sonia Gandhi, in her first public address for the ongoing campaign, urged Raebareli residents to support Rahul, assuring them of his commitment. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence that Singh would defeat Gandhi.
Amethi: Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma, a close aide to the Gandhi family, is running against BJP’s Smriti Irani. Sharma emphasized the Gandhi family’s contributions to Amethi’s development, while Irani highlighted the BJP’s policy clarity and character.
