The Uttarakhand Police have issued a strong warning to pilgrims planning to undertake the Char Dham Yatra, urging them not to register through fraudulent means. The police have vowed to take necessary action against those found attempting to register for the pilgrimage using illegal methods.

The ongoing pilgrimage to the Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham is currently proceeding smoothly without any disruptions. However, authorities have discovered that some individuals have embarked on the pilgrimage after registering through fraudulent means. The police have made it clear that strict action will be taken against such offenders in accordance with the law.
Earlier, the Rudraprayag Police launched “Operation Maryada” to ensure the civilized conduct of pilgrims and maintain the sanctity of the pilgrimage. As part of this drive, the police are taking firm action against those found misbehaving, consuming alcohol, or using intoxicants in the Dham area and Yatra halts
The Uttarakhand DGP, Abhinav Kumar, has also written to the director generals of police of all states, requesting them not to send any VIPs for Char Dham Darshan until May 31 due to the unexpected crowds
