Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to embark on a two-day trip to Kashmir starting Thursday, as confirmed by a local BJP leader. “Tomorrow evening, the Home Minister will arrive here and engage with various delegations,” stated BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur to PTI. Thakur further mentioned that Shah is likely to preside over a security review meeting during his overnight stay in the valley. “Our local party representatives, delegations from the Pahari community, trade associations, and civil society are among those scheduled to meet the Home Minister,” added Thakur. Although the BJP has not fielded candidates for the three Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir, it has reportedly offered unofficial support to certain new political entities established post the abrogation of Article 370.
