Varanasi, May 14 : Before filing his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Dashashwamedh Ghat on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi on Tuesday. He participated in the aarti ceremony amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. Modi was joined by several Union ministers, including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, as well as chief ministers from BJP and NDA-ruled states, along with other party leaders. Among the expected attendees were Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, LJP chief Chirag Paswan, Apna Dal (S) president Anupriya Patel, and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Omprakash Rajbhar. Alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath, chief ministers from Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Haryana, Goa, Sikkim, and Tripura were also anticipated to be present at the nomination filing. After completing the nomination process, Modi is scheduled to address a meeting with BJP workers at the Rudraksha Convention Centre. Voting in Varanasi is slated for the seventh phase on June 1.
