PM Predicts Congress to Win Fewer than 50 LS Seats, Denies Opposition Party Status Post Polls

PHULBANI (ODISHA), May 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an election rally in Phulbani, Odisha, on Saturday, asserted that the Congress would not secure even 50 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and would fail to attain opposition party status post-polls. Modi emphasized the formation of a “double engine” government in Odisha, ensuring representation from individuals deeply rooted in the state’s culture and language as the chief minister under the BJP regime.

Reflecting on the accomplishments of the previous BJP administration led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Modi highlighted the significance of the Pokhran nuclear tests conducted 26 years ago, which significantly bolstered India’s global standing. Additionally, Modi underscored his government’s role in fulfilling a 500-year-old aspiration by facilitating the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
