PM Modi Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray, Accusing Shiv Sena of Being “Fake”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) on Friday, labeling it as “fake” and accusing it of campaigning alongside a convict of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case to secure votes.

Earlier, the BJP alleged that Iqbal Moosa alias Baba Chauhan, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case, who served 10 years in jail, was seen campaigning for MVA northwest candidate Amol Kirtikar.

Addressing a public gathering in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar, PM Modi criticized the “fake” Shiv Sena for aligning with a bomb blast convict during their campaign. He condemned the use of such tactics for electoral gains, highlighting instances in Bihar and Maharashtra where individuals with criminal backgrounds were reportedly endorsed by political parties.

In a veiled swipe at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, PM Modi suggested that certain political leaders were becoming “frustrated and disappointed” after the voting in Baramati. He insinuated that these leaders were contemplating merging with the Congress party out of desperation, urging voters to support development-oriented agendas instead.

PM Modi also targeted the Congress party, accusing it of conspiring against Hindu faith and undermining national interests. He criticized remarks made by certain Congress leaders and associates, suggesting racial biases and discriminatory attitudes.

The Prime Minister urged voters to reject divisive narratives propagated by certain political factions and emphasized the importance of supporting agendas focused on progress and national unity.

The Lok Sabha elections’ fourth phase is scheduled for May 13, with vote counting set for June 4.
