Srinagar, May 8: The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has forecasted generally cloudy weather with light rain/snow expected at higher reaches and thunder at many places in Jammu and Kashmir on May 11 and 12.
According to a MeT official, the period from May 8 to 10 will see generally dry weather with the possibility of isolated thundershowers in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir. However, from May 11 to 12, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected with light rain/snow in higher reaches and thunder likely at many places. Moderate rainfall may occur in some areas, particularly on May 12.
On May 13, the forecast indicates partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain expected at a few places across Jammu and Kashmir. Subsequently, from May 14 to 17, generally dry weather is expected.
The official advised farmers to suspend farm operations during May 11 and 12 due to the anticipated weather conditions. Additionally, he mentioned that hot and dry weather is likely to persist over the plains of Jammu division.
